Ordination of Pastor David J. Roseland
"An ordination is a public recognition by a local congregation that a man has the spiritual gift of pastor-teacher, has taken the necessary steps to become qualified to exegete and exposit the Scriptures as well as to lead a local congregation, and has matured spiritually to meet the qualifications for elder as listed in 1 Timothy 3:1-7. To this end a man is qualified through personal endorsement from those who know him, providing evidence of his communication and leadership gift, answering a written examination to evaluate his basic knowledge of theology and the Bible, and demonstrating that he is able to analyze the text of Scripture and communicate its contents to a congregation. The candidate must also pass an oral examination of his basic knowledge of theology and the Bible and his view on pastoral responsibilities."
